The Brain Technology Institute is a non-profit organisation and is the only institute worldwide that specifically conducts research and develops devices to treat patients with rare neurovascular diseases: From out-of-the-box thinking to evidence based devices. Dedicated to improve quality of life.
The European Japanese Cerebrovascular Congress (EJCVC) was initiated in Zurich in 2001 by Prof. Y. Sakurai and Prof. Y. Yonekawa, under the name “Swiss-Japanese Joint Conference”. The 8th edition of this conference is being held in Zurich and hosted by Prof. Dr. Luca Regli, Chairman of dept. of Neurosurgery, University Hospital Zurich and BTI board member. During the Gala dinner on June 24, 2016, the second last day of the auction, all art works are being presented and guests are invited to place their bids.

I hope you enjoy this online auction and will support BTI by obtaining a high-end work of art.

The first edition of the BTI Brain Campaign 2016 took place from January 22nd-30th in collaboration with Catawiki, the world’s leading and fastest growing online auction house for art and exceptional items and collectables.
We organized this digital art auction to generate attention and to raise funds for BTI. Due to it's success the Brain Campaign is now being continued with an after sale, with some new works, some extra editions of prints and a few works that were almost sold in the previous auction, but which bids were just below the reserve price. So this is your second chance! Please go to http://auction.catawiki.com/lotsfrom/BT-I to take this chance. The auction is now open and will end on Saturday February 13th, 8PM CET.
As in the previous auction: Catawiki has again very generously waived their seller commission, so 50% of the proceeds will go to BTI and 50% will go to the artist. A real win-win: people can buy high-end contemporary art and the proceeds will directly benefit our research.

In order to generate more awareness about BTI and its objectives, we have decided to focus our marketing efforts on art and culture. Although seemingly different areas of interest, science and art have a lot in common: they are both related to innovation, research, open-mindedness, (improvement of) quality, and the like. These commonalities possess the power to reach a broad range of people and get them to support BTI’s mission.
As a result, we are proud to team up with the first edition of the Amsterdam Art Fair , which will take place this week. We hope to see you there!
On Thursday December 4th, you are cordially invited for the opening of an exclusive art exhibition to raise funds for the Annemarie Tulleken Fellowship, an international 'traveling observership' for young neurosurgeons.
The exhibition follows a symposium on new 'State-of-the-Art' developments in neurosurgery to celebrate 10 years of the lifesaving Elana technique (www.elana.com). 50% of the proceeds of each sold art work will directly benefit the funding of BTI's fellowship.
We believe that medical technology, just like art, are creative disciplines with the capacity to make our world a better place. They both need qualities such as intelligence and ambition, persional vision and perseverance to be successful. We can not do without medical science, like we cannot do without works of art to feed our mind and caress the eye.
We hope you will support this initiative by purchasing a work of art or make a small donation and look forward to seeing you on December 4th!
Address: UMC-Descartes Centre, 11th floor, Matthias van Geunsbuilding, Bolognalaan 48, Utrecht
On June 14, 2014 BTI hosted the 1st annual triathlon, the BTI@hlon, to raise awareness on and raise funds for research to help patients with life-threatening vascular brain diseases. The race took place in the beautiful countryside of Spain (Alicante province) BTI@hlon. Next to the athletes, co-organizers, volunteers and the band TSwings, we would specifically like to thank all sponsors. In total we raised over €10.000! Another special thanks go to two companies that donated great gear: Nike and Hi-Tec.
In 2016 we will organise the 2nd edition of this fun event for a great cause. More news on that soon!
BTI hosted, in collaboration with Lenox Hill Hospital and the Cushing Neuroscience Institute, a stimulating lecture and roundtable discussion on the future of neurovascular diseases featuring renowned vascular neurosurgeons from Europe, USA and Canada. This event was followed by a dinner in order to raise funds to improve the education for young neurosurgeons on cerebral bypasses.
We would like to express our profound gratitude for Mr. G. Blythe's generosity in donating $10,000 to BTI during this dinner. His support has been a major contribution in making our first fundraising event a success. Up until now we have raised over $15,000 and funds are still coming in through CAF America.
