Through its expansive worldwide network with vascular neurosurgeons and BTI’s state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, BTI has hosted many courses and conferences. BTI is currently the only institute that provides training to surgeons on neurosurgical bypass techniques. Even though a (non-occlusive) bypass surgery is often a last resort for a small group of patients with cerebrovascular disease, it is very important that this difficult technique stays available for these specific patients by having neurosurgeons that are thoroughly trained in this type of surgical technique.
